The Centaurea is a biennial plant which can reach a height of 30 centimeters, and presenting small blue to pink star-shaped flowers.
The decoction of this plant can also be used in dyeing: alone it dyes wool greenish yellow, lemon yellow if alum is added, and greenish brown if iron sulfate is added.
