Strong root. Indeed, horseradish gets its name from the Old French raiz, radish [or root] and the adjective strong.

Horseradish, therefore, has a strong fleshy root whose brown bark is far more aromatic than the white interior.

Horseradish root is ideal for purification and exorcisms.

The root is also used in the making of potions.
